SUMMARY:
Provide day-to-day supervision of clinical laboratory personnel in Specimen Management Division.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares and maintains schedules and provides appropriate coverage to ensure timely sample accessioning.
- Hires, trains and orients new laboratory employees.
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures.
- Maintains and orders laboratory supplies and equipment
- Prepares and reports the laboratory metrics and progress reports.
- Regularly provides performance feedback, mentors employees and completes annual performance reviews.
- Regularly verifies staff training and competency according to the laboratory regulations.
- Maintains laboratory compliance according to CAP, NY, CLIA regulations
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Education:
- Required: Associate’s degree in discipline related to work being conducted at the clinical laboratory.
- Experience:
- Required: Three years of relevant experience.
Certification/Licenses/Registration:
- Optional: MB (ASCP) or CG (ASCP)
