Position Overview:

The Quality Coordinator RN – Clinics is responsible for supporting the daily workflows related to quality and the school-based health clinics including all Winona Area Public School locations, Winona State University, St. Mary’s University and other contracted locations. For school clinic locations, they will ensure program growth and sustainability through grant management, maintain a collaborative relationship, and develop consistent workflows across locations. This role will also support quality workflows with a focus to improve patient outcomes. They are skilled in all aspects of the nursing process, delegates duties to staff in assistive roles, and are responsible to deliver the highest of customer service standards for patients and families presenting for services. The Quality Coordinator RN - Clinics will participate in patient care in the school-based clinics as needed and is the first line of assistance to the Nurse Manager for Primary Care. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and collaborates to ensure growth and sustainability of the school clinic locations.
  • Will identify grant opportunities, assures grant metrics are obtained and provide input into the grant writing process.
  • Identifies priorities and contributes to the efficient and smooth functioning of the school-based health clinics.
  • Acts as a liaison between Winona Health and Winona Area Public Schools, as well as Winona State, St. Mary’s University, and other contracted locations.
  • Provides oversight to clinic site schedules.
  • Organizes and leads SBHC initiatives, such as board meetings, vaccine clinics, educational, and community engagement events. Works in tandem with Winona Health Marketing Department.
  • Collects, interprets, records, and communicates data that is relevant to patient care and consults with other members of the health care team appropriately.
  • Is key to identifying quality improvement gaps and works with the team in a lead role on improvement plans.
  • Collaborates with data analytics department to ensure quality reporting matches current measure requirements and payor data is being submitted successfully.
  • Participates in the individual payor collaborative monthly meetings and is the main contact regarding quality workflows.
  • Effectively engages and communicates with caregivers’ necessary updates and process improvement activities.
  • Has oversight of additional pediatric specific programs including MnVFC.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

Required:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study
  • BLS Certification
  • RN License – MN
  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Familiar with Patient Information Database (Cerner/Oracle)
