As a Manufacturing Specialist, you will be responsible for developing processes for machining, manufacturing & assembly for propulsion components. You will work closely with engineering to improve overall manufacturing processes across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble and test high quality, high reliability structural components
  • Perform verifications of flight hardware and document results in a clear, precise and complete manner
  • Improve processes to enable automated acceptance testing
  • Respond to production related non-conformances and drive to root cause and disposition
  • Maintain process planning documents and action feedback when necessary
  • Perform maintenance and calibration activities for automated acceptance testing equipment
  • Hand drilling, match drilling, step drilling, tapping, countersinking, and chamfering using pneumatic drills and hand tools
  • Install fasteners (Hi-Loks, nuts, bolts, etc.), safety cable, inserts, use clecos, and bucking bars
  • Provide training and guidance to other technicians

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Demonstrated experience of developing manufacturing processes from scratch 
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment
  • 6+ years' of demonstrated hands-on manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems with structural components and implement scrappy solutions
  • Demonstrated experience with drilling, reaming, countersinking tight-tolerance holes using electric or pneumatic tools

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, or related field 
  • 8+ years' of demonstrated hands-on manufacturing experience within aerospace or related industry
  • Previous experience working within a start-up

Additional Requirements:
  • Flexible schedule and willing to travel as needed

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
