About the Department

The Human Resources department is seeking a Senior HRIS Administrative Manager. This position will oversee the implementation and maintenance of HR’s technology systems, ensuring data integrity, and system efficiency. This includes optimizing the use of HR systems and processes, ensuring the accuracy of HR data, analyzing data reports, resolving technical issues, and supporting the training on HR technology tools for end-users.

Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at 625 South 4th Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55487, and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, with typical hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

This is a full-time, benefit-earning position. You must be a current regular or probationary employee of Hennepin County to apply for this position. Limited duration employees not eligible.

In this position, you will:

  • Recommend HR-related software, including improvements to meet business needs and processes.  
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of HR technology solutions to ensure optimal functionality and security of HR data.  
  • Utilize HR-related software to optimize HR processes, customer service, and customer experience.  
  • Communicate HR needs to vendors and consultants. 
  • Provide technical support for HR technology solutions, troubleshooting, and resolving system issues as they arise in collaboration with the County IT department.
  • Create and generate various HR reports, perform data analytics, identify and analyze data trends, and identify patterns to guide data informed decision-making.  
  • Audit and maintain regularly the accuracy and security of HR data, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, County policies, and procedures.
  • Train HR staff and system users in the proper use and benefits of the system.  
  • Develop and maintain user manuals and tools and system guidelines to facilitate user understanding and compliance.
  • Provide leadership to further department-based strategies that align with county goals, mission, and core values for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Need to have:

One of the following:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business, public administration, information technology, human resources management or an approved field related to the position and five years or more of experience in the planning and administration of organizational operations or programs. 
  • Nine years or more of experience in the planning and administration of organizational operations or programs. 

Nice to have:
  • Experience:
    • Working with various HRIS platforms like Oracle (PeopleSoft) or Workday.
    • With HR information system administration (HRIS), HR data analytics or related experience. 
    • Implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives or a strong desire to learn and engage in these efforts.
  • Three years or more of supervisory experience.
  • Deep understanding of HR technologies, database management, and data analysis. 
  • Experience or education around addressing racial equity, gender equity, LGBTQIA equity, neurodiversity equity, differing ability equity.
