As the Regional Quality Manager, your primary responsibility is to drive quality results across your assigned sites within your primary product category. In this role you will lead teams by setting goals, creating strategies, and developing talent for the region. You will collaborate with the Regional Director of Manufacturing to uphold company quality standards ensuring compliance with internal and external procedures, customer requirements, and regulatory agency guidelines. You will facilitate external and internal audits on a routine basis to identify any non-conforming areas and develop sustainable and systemic corrective actions. You will set the example for a culture of quality within our processes and organization. You will also support the team to succeed on all measures, including business performance

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mentor local Quality teams through the development of relationship strategies and programs that support quality improvement.
  • Promote a culture of quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization and across your assigned facilities.
  • Monitor performance by gathering relevant data, producing statistical reports and providing data and recommendations to Plant and Quality Leadership. (KPI’s, Internal and external issues, etc.)
  • Effectively interact with Estimating & Planning, Customer Relations, Sales, Operations, and Purchasing teams to maintain product supply, introduce new products, and establish quality requirements and testing.
  • Confirm testing is completed to meet customer requirements and train personnel on new test methods.
  • Perform internal site quality audits as assigned, identify non-conforming processes, create and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee regional external complaints including customer communication, investigation, root cause determination, and corrective action development in collaboration with cross functional teams.
  • Engage with local leadership in the handling of complex and escalated customer issues to ensure efficient resolution.
  • Collaborate with Operations to implement improvements to existing products and processes in order to improve product quality and reduce cost.
  • Establish procedures and documentation. Oversee committees, as necessary, to ensure compliance with all internal and external (ISO, Product Safety, Customer, etc.) quality requirements.
  • Review quality procedures and forms for effectiveness (Maintain Best Practices) and train personnel on any new or modified procedures.
  • Write & maintain SOPs for current and future processes. 
  • Interface with regulatory agencies, committee members, and other organizational staff to maintain compliance and formulate corrective actions when deficiencies are noted.
  • Travel to designated FSG sites and customers as needed.  Investigate complaints in the field and disposition product.
  • Identify and eliminate barriers to enhance performance and enable team members to contribute towards process and performance improvements.
  • Inspire team growth through challenging direct reports to create individual development plans that promote an environment of accountability through performance management.

  • Participate in the annual budget process; own the management and results of the budget for the assigned team.

Qualifications


Requirements:
Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Quality or Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Supervisory experience within a multi-site and/or mid-large organization.
  • Proven record of leading quality teams to meet or exceed company goals.
  • Knowledge of relevant lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other quality assurance processes/procedures preferred.

  • Experience and understanding of quality and manufacturing related documentation.
  • Able to analyze data, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Plant level quality managers/supervisors.  Indirect supervision of Quality Team(s).

Training Requirements:

  • Willing to attend required training courses or sessions related to the job as assigned.

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting, standing, and repetitive tasks of working at a computer.
  • Lifting, sitting, standing, crouching, required.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and subject to random drug screening.

Work Environment:

  • Home office: Adequate Wi-fi access required to support company provided computer and allow for seamless use of communication applications and tools for conducting daily business (ie: Video calls, chat, messaging, etc).
  • On-site office: Standard office environment, adjacent to production.
  • Regular exposure to dust and noise while in the production environment.
  • Warehouse environment temperatures may be influenced by outside temperatures.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follow all safety requirements in the production area.

Travel Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel to FSG sites or customers as needed, occasionally on short notice.  Typical travel percentage will vary but is expected to be in the 25% range.
