Work Location: El Paso, TX or Plano, TX, Hybrid (work 3 days onsite)
Hybrid Schedule: Helen of Troy associates enjoy the advantages and flexibility of a hybrid working model, allowing for in-office 3 days minimum and remote 2 days. Any changes to this working model will be communicated accordingly.
What you will be doing:
As the Vice President of Human Resources, you’ll lead our global HR strategy and operations. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you'll partner closely with executive leadership to shape a high-performing, inclusive workplace. Your responsibilities will span talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, compliance, and organizational development. You’ll also oversee corporate communications and employer brand strategy, ensuring our culture and values are communicated, both internally and externally.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Leadership
Serve as a strategic advisor to the Chief Legal Officer and executive team.
Align HR strategy with business goals across all departments and geographies.
Evolve our culture with a focus on engagement, inclusion, and accountability.
Lead internal communications and employer branding efforts that reflect our values and strengthen team cohesion and talent attraction.
HR Operations & Compliance
Oversee day-to-day HR operations globally, ensuring compliance with labor laws across all regions.
Develop clear, consistent policies that balance legal obligations with business needs.
Manage employment-related legal matters in partnership with legal counsel.
People Leadership
Lead a high-performing, geographically diverse HR team.
Provide guidance and support to HR leaders and business partners across the company.
Oversee compensation, benefits, performance management, and organizational design.
Talent & Development
Drive strategies to attract, hire, and retain top talent, especially in key leadership and technical roles.
Lead initiatives in onboarding, training, leadership development, and succession planning.
Use workforce analytics to monitor trends and improve employee experience.
Communications & Brand
Lead internal communications strategies that inform, engage, and align employees.
Shape our employer brand in partnership with Marketing and Talent Acquisition, ensuring a consistent and compelling narrative across channels.
Budget & Vendor Oversight
Manage the HR budget and ensure effective use of resources.
Oversee relationships with third-party vendors supporting payroll, benefits, recruiting, and compliance.
Skills needed to be successful in this role:
Strategic thinker with strong operational judgment and problem-solving skills.
Strong consultative, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
Demonstrated experience navigating complex employee relations issues.
Ability to influence at all levels of the organization and build trust quickly.
Proficiency in HR technologies and systems, including payroll and compliance tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including global HR oversight.
Experience advising senior leadership and managing HR operations across multiple geographies.
Strong track record of building and managing high-performing HR teams.
Expertise in U.S. and international employment laws and practices.
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree or HR certifications (e.g., SPHR, GPHR).
