Position Overview:
This is a senior leadership position responsible for enterprise application development, support, and delivery within the organization. Scope includes strategic technical roadmap development, design, operation and support, and business relationship management. This position will be responsible for establishing a vision that aligns with modern technology trends, mapping the vision to our current state, and drive transformation throughout the organization. This role will work closely with numerous operational business lines, IT departments, third party vendors and transaction gateway partners.
Essential Responsibilities:
(Weighted 20%) Strategy: Develop and partner with key business lines/stakeholders to develop joint strategic roadmaps. Balancing the delivery of best- in- class enhancements, secure and reliable offerings, stable and high-performing platforms, while ensuring integration with enterprise projects and strategy. Conduct regular roadmap reviews with partner business units to ensure full coverage during prioritization sessions. Maintain a large focus on organization change management/readiness, including effective challenge to legacy processes and practices.
(Weighted 20%) Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure solutions created deliver member and business value. Foster collaboration and effective change all levels within the team/organization. Partner with senior leaders across the organization in development of overall roadmap strategy. Establish ongoing relationships to ensure balance between Technology and SECU business line initiatives/roadmap.
(Weighted 20%) Delivery: Drive delivery and continuous improvement by utilizing feedback and metrics to identify areas of opportunity. Leverage industry proven frameworks and drive the appropriate methodology to focus on predicable, quality delivery and continuous improvement.
(Weighted 15%) Innovation: Promote and develop a culture which encourages technology innovation. Stay up to date on current and evolving trends and emerging technology solutions. Provide training opportunities for leadership and staff to ensure teams are prepared for the future.
(Weighted 10%) Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong vendor relationships with current and potential engagements. Ensure teams are effectively managing key relationships. Hold vendors accountable to defined SLA and contractual commitments, while maintaining professional working relationship. Responsible for financial management of vendor engagements and recurring cost.
(Weighted 15%) Management/Coaching: Provide direct people management, coaching, and mentorship to members of Development, Architecture, Integration teams, and partner with Product and Project Management and Analyst teams. Ensure associates receive proper training, development opportunities, and effective and timely feedback.
Required Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
• Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years’ experience of progressive experience in software development management
• Experience leading within Application Development, Strategy, and Technology teams, preferably within Financial Industry.
• Proven ability to lead large, complex initiatives and cross functional teams.
• Experience leading large scale development and support teams, within a complex environment.
• A proven record of dealing with complex projects and meeting conflicting demands.
• Forward-thinking strategist who is dedicated to empowering staff, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
• Ability to communicate and influence at the executive level.
• Ability to lead a technology team that uses an agile development process and structure to ensure high quality, timely delivery of features and innovative enhancements.
• Committed to protecting consumers, employees, and our brands by incorporating security and compliance in all decisions and seeking opportunities to improve our security posture.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
Preferred Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
• Master’s degree in business administration (MBA), Engineering or Management Information Systems, or a related field
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Executive education or relevant leadership certifications are a plus.
• Fluent in technology solutions, with a preference for experience within large scale financial institutions.
• Strong vendor relationship skills and adept at program governance.
