Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company
As a Sr. Lead Product Designer on the Card Servicing team, you will play a critical role in shaping the user experience for products managing a $15 billion customer payment volume within our Spend and Expense platform. Your primary focus will be optimizing payment experiences, managing delinquency, and enhancing bank account and payment functionalities. You will work on features related to billing cycles, payments, lines of credit, and other card-related services, ensuring they are intuitive, efficient, and aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cross-Collaboration: Lead cross-functional collaboration by working closely with Product Management, Engineering, Research, Data, and Product Marketing teams. Facilitate seamless communication and alignment across all stakeholders to drive the successful implementation of design strategies that meet both user needs and business goals.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize data and user insights to inform and guide design decisions. Continuously analyze user behavior and product performance metrics to refine and optimize design strategies, ensuring they are backed by solid data and aligned with business objectives.
- User-Centric Design: Conduct user research to uncover and deeply understand user needs, pain points, and preferences. Translate these insights into design strategies that enhance user experience and support business objectives, particularly in optimizing payment processes and reducing delinquency rates.
- End-to-End Design Process: Own the entire design process, from initial research and ideation to design, testing, validation, and final implementation. Ensure that every design is intuitive, user-friendly, and meets the highest standards of quality.
- Innovation: Develop and implement innovative, adaptable design strategies that address both end-user and internal team requirements. Create tools, guidelines, and documentation that enable internal teams to adopt and contribute to design standards.
- Mentorship: Mentor and inspire other designers, fostering a collaborative and positive team culture. Encourage continuous learning and professional growth within the design team.
- Stakeholder Communication: Regularly present design concepts, strategies, and updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the broader business vision.
- Design System Management: Contribute to and help evolve the design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across products. Advocate for design standards and best practices within the organization.
- Prototyping and Testing: Develop high-fidelity prototypes and lead usability testing sessions to validate design concepts. Iterate on designs based on feedback and test results to ensure optimal user experiences.
- Project Management: Collaborate with product managers and engineers to scope design projects, establish timelines, and ensure on-time delivery of high-quality designs. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a keen attention to detail.
We’d love to chat if you have:
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in product design, with a proven track record of leading design projects from concept to launch. Previous experience in FinTech or a related industry is a plus.
- Skills: Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong understanding of UX/UI principles, interaction design, and visual design.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Interaction Design, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and leading design teams. Ability to drive consensus and foster collaboration in a cross-functional team environment.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to think strategically and critically, using data to make informed design decisions. Strong problem-solving skills and a user-centric mindset.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate design decisions and strategies to stakeholders at all levels.
This role offers the opportunity to lead impactful design efforts in a high-stakes area of our business, where your work will directly influence the customer payment experience and contribute to the overall success of the Spend and Expense platform.

The estimated salary range for this role is noted below for our San Jose based role. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.
The estimated base salary range for this role is noted below for our office location in Draper, UT. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in BILL’s bonus and equity plan. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.
