• The IT Support Assistant is a hands-on support role responsible for the physical deployment, relocation, and setup of technology equipment throughout the hospital. This position plays a key role in maintaining organized and accurate IT hardware inventory and supports frontline IT logistics. While technical expertise is limited to routine tasks, the IT Support Assistant is expected to provide courteous, professional, and responsive service to hospital staff when delivering, setting up, or relocating equipment.- As you go about fulfilling this mission, your work habits and work relationships should embody SJRMC's values. Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and peripheral devices.
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds and perform extended physical tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in inventory documentation.
- Proficient data entry and typing skills for accurate and timely record-keeping.
- Manage relationships with trust, honesty, respect, and integrity.
- Ability to consistently provide world-class and excellent customer service.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in IT equipment handling, logistics, or inventory roles, preferably in healthcare.
- Familiarity with asset management tools and basic IT troubleshooting.
- Interest in pursuing a technical support role or certification (e.g., CompTIA ITF+ or A+).
- Comfortable using standard IT tools and basic hand tools such as drills and Allen wrenches.
- Skilled in operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and working in warehouse or assembly line environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver, unbox, label, and set up IT equipment including workstations, monitors, phones, and peripherals.
- Relocate and reconnect technology during office moves, construction projects, or upgrades.
- Provide friendly and professional support during equipment installation or moves in clinical and administrative settings.
- Maintain and organize inventory rooms and storage areas, ensuring accurate labeling and shelving.
- Perform regular inventory audits and log equipment in asset tracking systems.
- Assist in staging and preparing devices for deployment or recycling.
- Support basic troubleshooting, such as verifying connections or power.
- Document equipment movement, setup details, and status changes in inventory systems.
- Each caregiver is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship.
Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:
- On-site during scheduled shifts and quickly responsive, remote support for off-hours/twenty-four, seven (24×7) when allowed or approved, occasional travel.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, crawling, and ladder use in tight or elevated spaces, plus extended floor rounding and computer work.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of IT hardware and materials (up to fifty (50) pounds).
- Participation in scheduled shift coverage and on-call support for emergencies, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and service-oriented communication in all interactions.
