We’re seeking a driven and experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong full-stack testing expertise to help launch a new product within our platform. You’ll join a talented, remote-first US team and play a key role in delivering self-service tools that simplify and automate complex workflows for media activation.

What our team does:
Our team is responsible for delivering a new product within OpenX’s next-generation platform to help users plan, manage, and optimize campaign outcomes more effectively. We focus on building scalable APIs and intuitive interfaces that give users access to our rapidly growing suite of AI-driven decisioning and optimization tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain scalable test automation frameworks that ensure reliability across APIs and user interfaces in a 0→1 product environment.
Develop comprehensive automation strategies to validate AI-driven media activation.
Own end-to-end validation for key features, driving test strategy, implementation, execution, and deployment readiness.
Work closely with backend, frontend, and data science teams to align on testability, coverage gaps, and quality goals throughout the development cycle.
Investigate failures, perform root cause analysis, and continuously improve coverage, test data strategies, and test suite performance.
Promote engineering excellence through constructive code reviews, mentoring, and driving improvements in code quality, architecture, and platform best practices.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in software test automation, with a strong track record of building and maintaining scalable test frameworks for backend APIs and user-facing applications.
Proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, with the ability to write clean, modular, and testable code
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Google Cloud Build, Spinnaker, or equivalent, including maintaining and improving test pipelines.
Deep understanding of modern testing strategies, including integration, end-to-end, and regression testing in distributed systems.
Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills, with the ability to triage and resolve issues across complex service and interface boundaries.
Hands-on experience with modern test frameworks such as pytest, Cypress, Playwright, or Go-based tools
Familiarity with TestOps and DevOps practices, including test observability, parallel execution, and test data strategy
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a focus on engineering excellence and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on SaaS platforms with multi-step workflows, complex data models, or user-facing configuration tools.
Experience in digital media, marketing technology, or advertising technology
Experience working in cloud-native environments using Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines. (ask us about our migration to Google Cloud Platform!)
Experience testing UI flows or frontend systems built with component libraries or GraphQL APIs
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor and GitHub Copilot.
