Blend is now expanding operations to India, and as one of the first engineers on the ground, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the engineering and testing foundations of Blend India.

As a Quality Automation Engineer at Blend, you’ll ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our products by designing and implementing tests as well as test automation frameworks. You will work closely with the engineering and product teams to establish testing strategies, identify defects early, and drive continuous improvement in software quality. This is an exciting opportunity to build automation processes from the ground up while helping connect Blend India with the broader global engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain tests and test frameworks for web applications, APIs, and backend systems.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define test strategies, create test plans, and ensure comprehensive test coverage for new features.
  • Implement automated end-to-end, integration, and regression tests to improve release reliability.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects, working closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
  • Enhance CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests into the deployment process, enabling faster and safer releases.
  • Act as a quality advocate, ensuring that engineering teams adhere to quality standards and processes. 
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of QA Engineers and/or Quality Analysts, fostering their professional development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation.
  • Proficiency in developing automation scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium.
  • Solid programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • Experience with API testing tools like Postman or RestAssured.
  • Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, JIRA) and bug tracking processes.
  • Hands-on experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines using platforms like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies: functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
