Job Summary: About the Position: This position is located in the Defense Health Agency (DHA) under the policy guidance of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (ASD(HA)) and is located in Fort Detrick, Maryland. Leave accrual negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Major Duties:

  • Deliver customer service support for medical units regarding medical logistics.
  • Analyze policies to provide end-to-end support in medical logistics.
  • Coordinate with internal and external organizations on long-term planning functions.
  • Engage in staff assistance visits to identify deficiencies.
  • Provide advice addressing supply systems integration.
  • Consult with other agencies to address and resolve issues.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing medical logistics customer service for medical units; interpreting medical logistics policies and procedures; utilizing medical logistics automated systems such as the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system; and advising key-staff on supply system integration. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service Oral Communication Organizational Awareness Technical Competence
