The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute’s (OSUCCC-James) mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The BMT Patient Coordinator acts as a liaison to patients/caregivers, interdisciplinary teams, referring and cellular therapy physicians throughout the cellular therapy (includes HSCT and BMT as well as other cellular therapies such as CAR T cells; NK cells, TIL cells; etc.) screening and preparatory process.
Position Summary
The BMT Coordinator acts as a liaison to patients during the pre bone marrow transplant screening and preparatory process. The BMT patient coordinator works closely with payers and hospital financial counselors to satisfy payer coverage requirements or to assist in locating potential coverage options for transplant patients. The BMT Patient Coordinator coordinates with the transplant clinicians all pre-transplant testing and clinical work up and schedules patient for admission/services at the direction of the transplant-attending physician. Position located at the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications
Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Ohio. Previous hospital experience required, previous BMT experience preferred. Knowledge of OSU and BMT Program desireable.
