Role Purpose:
This role will form part of the Data Governance and Stewardship team, working on data governance programmes, including the Enterprise Master Data Management initiative. This individual will work closely with our Research, Data and Product functions. The successful candidate will help solve challenges around data management, pipelines, analysis and data quality.
The success of this role will require attention to detail, collaboration and problem solving. The core objective is to deliver consistent data to our clients and enable efficient data product workflows. Ensuring we have a supportive and inclusive culture within our team is essential.
Key responsibilities
Performs defined tasks and delivers with clear guidance to maintain and manage master datasets
Carry out research to solve data problems and improve content
Monitor data quality and assist in rectification or cleansing activities
Assist in the maintenance of data dictionaries and metadata repositories
Assist in monitoring the adherence to data governance policies, procedures, and standards
Maintain data governance tooling and reporting
Knowledge and experience:
Clarifies outcomes, goals, and hypotheses
Has a base level skillset in a core data track, including:
Visualisation techniques to perform exploratory data analysis with assistance. Skills in one scripting language and data gathering techniques and the ability to query data using SQL.
Takes defined problems, gets appropriate feedback, clarifies approach and solves them
Has a growth mindset - is continually evolving skills
Meets clear expectations for quality and timely delivery
Developing core skills to interpret data from different sources using SQL, Excel or Python
Builds effective working relationship
Speaks up in meetings, tries new techniques, and reaches out for help proactively
Works closely with DG&S team members to ensure tasks are completed accurately
