Job Summary: About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Eglin Benz Lake Marina with the 96th Force Support Squadron at Eglin AFB, Florida. Position is Regular Part-time (RPT) guaranteed 20-34 hours per week and schedule tour of duty may include nights, weekends and holidays. RPT employees are eligibles (Health/Dental Insurance; Life Insurance; 401K & AFNAF Retirement Plan with Employer matching contribution; PTO/SL/Holidays).

Major Duties:

  • Diagnoses malfunctions of outboard motors to determine the source of trouble and to determine the extent of repairs required, including electrical systems, geared units, and components. Using specialized testing equipment, tears down, adjusts, repairs, reassembles, and runs operational checks on engines to determine necessary repairs. Determines supplies and parts needed for repair of motors. May maintain maintenance records on all equipment repaired, annotating manhours, materials, and date of repair. Based on these records, determines bench stock required and maintenance schedules. Instructs patrons in all phases of safety regulations concerning use of boats and motors. May collect fees for rental of equipment and prepare daily cash reports and deposit funds. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of outboard marine engines. This experience must have provided a thorough knowledge of and the ability to test and troubleshoot, components and systems to locate marine equipment defects; interpret and apply manufacturer's repair manuals and technical specifications, schematics, diagnostic codes, and safety manuals; and to operate electronic test equipment. Must be physically able to frequently lift, handle, and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and with assistance, objects up to and over 50 pounds. Must be able to frequently, stand, bend, stoop, crawl, and work in tight spaces for long periods of time. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background investigation.
