About the Team:

At Relativity Space, our Production Control Team plays a mission-critical role in enabling our vision of revolutionizing aerospace manufacturing. This team is responsible for planning and coordinating the entire product lifecycle—from initial components and engine builds to full-stage vehicle integration. What makes our team unique is the depth and extensiveness of our influence across the organization. We work closely with Production, Supply Chain, Program Management, Engineering, and Leadership to ensure that every part, assembly, and milestone is aligned with the bigger picture. Our team sits at the intersection of strategic execution and tactical problem solving, helping to translate complex technical goals into clear, achievable plans. We thrive in an environment where no two days are the same, and where adaptability, ownership, and curiosity are essential. If you’re energized by the idea of building the future of spaceflight, being a core driver of operational readiness, and collaborating with some of the most innovative teams in the industry—then this is the team for you.

About the Role:

We are seeking a technically strong and people-focused Production Coordination Supervisor to lead the scaling and maturation of our production coordination function as we transition from development builds to full-rate rocket manufacturing. This role sits at the heart of execution—bridging daily production, planning, and delivery with long-term scalability and process optimization. As a leader in this space, you’ll be responsible for building a high-performing coordination team, aligning execution to daily and long-term build goals, and designing the systems, workflows, and standards needed to operate at production scale. This role requires an individual who brings deep manufacturing experience, a sharp eye for automation and efficiency gains, and a passion for team development.

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Production Coordinators responsible for managing hardware movement, work order health, and execution across work centers.
  • Drive the standardization of coordination processes through the creation and rollout of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training, and documentation.
  • Identify, implement, and scale automation tools and digital workflows that streamline coordination activities and reduce manual effort.
  • Develop and enforce Service Level Agreements (SLAs) between coordination, planning, production, supply chain, and supporting teams to ensure execution accountability and responsiveness.
  • Serve as the escalation point for coordination issues, bottlenecks, and execution gaps—working cross-functionally to resolve in real-time.
  • Partner with Planning, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to support hardware readiness, schedule adherence, and rate-based execution.
  • Monitor key execution metrics, lead root cause investigations, and implement systemic improvements that drive measurable efficiency gains.
  • Create an environment of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement, where the coordination team is empowered to lead and act..

About You:

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, production control, or hardware coordination, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong technical understanding of shop floor processes, work order execution, and hardware movement across work centers.
  • Demonstrated experience building and mentoring high-performing teams, including hiring, development, and performance management.
  • Proven ability to scale operational processes, implement SOPs, and drive consistency in fast-changing environments.
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems, MES, and coordination platforms (e.g., dispatch tools, Jira, Smartsheet).
  • Experience driving automation and workflow improvements across manual execution processes.

Nice to haves but not required:

  • Experience in aerospace, rocket manufacturing, or other highly complex and regulated hardware production environments.
  • Familiarity with rate-based manufacturing and daily production planning models.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Excel, or workflow automation platforms.
