Summary:

The Legal Advisor role is responsible for providing proactive, dedicated legal support to the Integrated Supply Chain operation. This role will be responsible for advising on a wide range of commercial, contractual, compliance, and regulatory matters to support procurement, logistics, inventory management, and supplier relationship management functions. The Legal Advisor will play a critical role in ensuring legal risk is identified, assessed, and managed effectively across the supply chain.

Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Draft, review, and support the integrated supply chain team to negotiate commercial contracts, long term agreements, service level agreements (SLAs), logistics contracts, and procurement terms.
  • Provide legal advice on contract management, dispute resolution, and contractual risk mitigation strategies. Manage external legal counsel where necessary for specialized supply chain-related matters.
  • Ensure supply chain operations comply with relevant local, regional, and international laws and regulations, including trade compliance, import/export controls, anti-corruption, and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and deliver legal and compliance training sessions for supply chain and procurement teams on key legal risks, contract management, and regulatory topics.
  • Advise on regulatory updates and their impact on supply chain operations and supplier engagements, as well as insurance requirements and liability management in supply chain contracts.
  • Support incident management, investigations, and claims arising within the supply chain network. Log and communicate financial risk as appropriate.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of supply chain policies, standard contract templates, and legal procedures.
  • Track and communicate operational performance such as contract review and cycle time.
  • Partners with internal teams including procurement, logistics, operations, finance, program management, and corporate legal to support integrated decision-making.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Law (Bachelors Degree)
  • Licensed to practice law in relevant jurisdiction(s).
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience in legal experience, preferably in commercial, corporate, or supply chain law.
    • OR (12) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree.
    • OR (6) years of experience may be considered w/ a Masters Degree.
    • OR (3) years of experience may be considered w/a PhD.
  • Experience advising on procurement, logistics, and supplier contracts is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of commercial and government contracts, including FAR and DFARS.
  • Knowledge of international trade laws, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with drafting, negotiation, and legal risk assessments
  • Ability to balance legal risk with commercial pragmatism.
  • Experience working within an engineering, manufacturing and logistics-intensive business is a plus.
  • Background supporting international supply chains and cross-border legal matters preferred.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain an U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law.
  • Pay Range: $111,000 - $139,000 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
