We are seeking a local candidate for this role! This position offers a flexible, hybrid schedule with availability to work from home on Monday and Friday.
The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounts payable process to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing of vendor invoices and payments. This role leads the AP team, develops efficient workflows, and partners with internal and external stakeholders to support company operations and financial reporting. The AP Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining strong internal controls, vendor relationships, and adherence to company policies.
The day in the life of an Accounts Payable Supervisor...
- Supervise the daily operations of the Accounts Payable department, including invoice processing, payment runs, expense reimbursements, and vendor inquiries.
- Lead, train, and support AP team members to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely performance.
- Oversee the month-end close process for AP, including accruals, account reconciliations, and reporting.
- Monitor and enforce internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Manage vendor onboarding, maintain W-9s, and ensure proper 1099 reporting.
- Serve as primary liaison for AP-related audits and inquiries from internal/external auditors.
- Continuously review AP processes and recommend improvements to drive efficiency and automation.
- Oversee payment methods, ensure secure and accurate disbursements, and monitor fraud prevention practices.
- Track KPIs and provide reports on AP aging, processing times, and other relevant metrics.

Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience) Required
Experience:
- 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role Required
- Strong understanding of GAAP, AP workflows, and internal controls
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience with high-volume, multi-entity or multi-location environments
- Familiarity with 1099 reporting and IRS compliance
- Experience with AP automation tools or workflow software
