Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art medical campus that includes diagnostic centers, outpatient surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education.   

 

Martin North Hospital is looking to add a CE Imaging Technician II to their team. A caregiver in this role will independently perform diagnosis, repair, calibration and preventive maintenance on ultrasound equipment, portable/fixed x-ray rooms and mammography equipment. This is a great opportunity for those who are able to work independently and have strong adaptability skills due to there being minimal vendor support. A caregiver in this position works days from 6:30AM – 3:00PM, with on-call and holiday requirements. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:   

  • Analyze system failures of medical imaging systems. 

  • Perform repairs in accordance to manufacturer protocol within time standards set by service level agreements. 

  • Perform preventive maintenance on complex medical systems and develop preventive maintenance procedures based on site specific requirements incorporating usage and other performance metrics. 

  • Inspect new equipment and complete documentation for CMMS database. 

  • Act as an enterprise resource providing technical expertise on the assigned imaging equipment. 

  • Provide on-the-job cross training to fellow technicians for devices they are trained. on. 

 

 Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

  • Associate's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering Technology OR additional years of relevant work experience or relevant military training 

  • Five years of experience working with X-ray generating equipment, interventional radiology, Linear Accelerators, CT scanners, MRI machines, or Nuclear Medical imaging equipment or other similar complex medical systems 

  • High degree of technical expertise on the assigned modality and the ability to function independently in both a technical and administrative capacity 

  • Knowledge of complex electronic, pneumatic or mechanical systems related to the assigned complex medical system 

  • In-depth knowledge of engineering theory and principles related to the assigned complex medical system 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

  • Imaging/Radiology Service experience 

  • Electronic and electro-mechanical skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to move up to 75 pounds.

  • Ability to work in prone positions and in confined, dark areas.

  • Visual acuity sufficient to distinguish between colors used for wire color coding and read finely printed blueprints and schematics.

  • Ability to climb 8-foot ladders and work on overhead equipment.

  • Ability to perform work with extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.

  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
