Details zum Jobangebot

Kaia is a mission-focused health technology company.

Our story began in 2016, when our founders Konstantin Mehl and Manuel Thurner, set out on a mission to bring affordable and accessible relief to millions of people with chronic conditions. No strangers to chronic pain themselves, they decided to innovate ways to remove the obstacles many people experience in getting the leading-edge care they need in order to live their best lives.

How do Kaia apps work? Kaia uses a dynamic AI-powered algorithm. Our programs are based on multimodal rehabilitation, a holistic approach to managing chronic conditions. Our users have easy access via smartphone and tablet to our programs for back/hip/knee pain and COPD using this evidence-based approach.

Five years into our story, we are a leader in digital therapeutics, with 500,000+ users worldwide. Having raised $125 million from investors such as Optum Ventures, idInvest, and Balderton Capital. We are poised to create a global footprint in digital self-care; Kaia is patient empowerment made easy.

The regulatory landscape is quickly adapting to the digital ecosystem. Therefore, our mission and strategy bring new opportunities for exceptional talent to join our journey. With over 100 "Kaianeers" spread across the globe, we need now, more than ever, specialized talent to help take our mission further.

As a Product Manager, you will have the mission of making our partnerships and customer relationships successful and helping us provide better care for our users. You will join an established team of product managers, designers, and engineers who value personal growth and coaching. As a member of a fast-growing organization, you have the opportunity to build scalable tools, processes, and platforms for the years to come.

You will

Define product strategy:

  • Research and define the needs of our customers and users in a structured way by applying user research and customer discovery methodologies (we love Teresa Torres's Opportunity Solution Tree and are working to embed Continuous Discovery Habits in our working mode).
  • Work with senior leadership to define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for building a scalable product that anticipates our customers' needs and grows our business.
  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders from inside the organization to align on business strategy and market opportunities.

Define structured and implementable product increments:

  • Create clear product hypotheses in accordance with product strategy and vision and apply discovery techniques in collaboration with our Product Design, Operations, and Care Teams.
  • Document existing functionality and first principles as you enter problem spaces to anticipate the impact of changes, communicate readily with stakeholders, and avoid unintended harm to our users or business.
  • Articulate and test assumptions early and often, creating a healthy pattern of Continuous Discovery that aids the team in mapping and executing in ways that will help our users more and more over time.
  • Participate actively in design iterations, helping the whole team visualize the opportunity space and the choices to be made as we start to solve in each area.

Drive outcomes through execution and learning loops:

  • Analyse outcomes of product experiments and releases and iteratively improve our products and platforms.
  • Communicate & market product releases both with internal teams and external partners.

We are looking for somebody who has:

  • A passion for product management activities:
    • Understanding and articulating our user journeys, customer flows, and where we have the opportunity to help more people in more ways while supporting our business and mission.
    • Analyzing and visualizing data to align teams on what matters most for our users and our business and build alignment, momentum, quality, and continuous discovery into our execution motion.
    • Using requirements and other artifacts to bring the whole team into the problem space in meaningful ways, collaborating with squads to arrive at value-oriented and detailed requirements that foster agency while driving outcomes.
    • Communicating clearly & listening carefully, to maintain a roadmap (and history) that progressively increases the value we deliver over time, building momentum and team motivation throughout the organization.
  • Written, verbal, and visual communication strength:
    • You love to write and diagram your evolving understanding of problem spaces in language that's accessible and appropriate to various audiences.
    • You're able to "code switch" with various audiences in written or verbal communication to serve as a bridge between micro and macro views of problem spaces.
    • You actively encourage others to generate artifacts (e.g. write-ups, workflows, designs, and drafts) so that you can foster continuous discovery and actively synthesize, rather than try to "author" every aspect of the work.
  • Quantitative skills and an analytical mindset with the ability to craft data-driven narratives:
    • You understand the "scientific halo" that numbers can bring and you are able to identify ways to measure what matters most.
    • Narratives you build on data are nuanced but accessible, helping teams to understand where we're testing assumptions vs. driving outcomes.
  • Strong critical thinking, mental models, and systems thinking:
    • You are eager and curious to understand technical concepts and their implications, rolling up your sleeves to engage even deep in problem spaces where needed, and immediately reflecting what you've learned.
  • Good understanding of (and experience with) modern software development patterns:
    • You know what good project management feels like, and you're able to articulate hypotheses on where work's getting slow or stuck so that teams can address them as a group.
    • You understand and have experience with Agile, Kanban, continuous integration, and quality assurance, and you can provide meaningful feedback for others when you see gaps and opportunities to deliver more value with less pain and frustration.
Ideally, you also have:

  • Previous experience as part of a high-output agile software team, particularly in growing product-market fit and improving scalability.
  • Experience with mobile apps.
  • Experience with some of the following tools/methodologies: JIRA, Figma, Confluence, BI tools (like Looker, Mixpanel, and Metabase), Design Thinking, Customer Discovery, UX Design.

What we offer in Germany:

  • We support your professional development and have a budget and PTO set aside for you just for that!
