We believe the biggest problem in hiring isn’t broken applicant tracking systems or bad filtering. It’s role clarity. Teams rarely agree on what they’re hiring for, so even the best candidates fail. Hiroic is the AI hiring expert that aligns teams, defines roles with precision, and replaces chaos with clarity and confidence.

The prototype is live, design partners are testing, and investors are backing us. The demand is real. Now we need a founding engineer to join the Hiroic team, build on the foundation we’ve laid, and take the product to the next level.

This isn’t a role where tasks are handed to you. You’ll inherit decisions and structures already in place, collaborate with the Gitwit team, and then branch off to lead technical growth, architecture, and future hires.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Own the stack: From backend APIs to frontend interfaces, you’ll architect and scale Hiroic’s core platform.
  • Ship fast, iterate faster: Translate messy role conversations into clean, testable product features.
  • Embed AI with purpose: Build and deploy LLM-powered features that don’t just add hype, but deliver clarity for hiring teams.
  • Stay close to users: Work directly with design partners, customers, and the founding team to refine the product.
  • Partner with Gitwit: Work closely with the Gitwit team to leverage existing knowledge, frameworks, and practices so you’re not starting from scratch.
  • Define technical culture: Set engineering practices, pick frameworks, and influence future hires.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 4+ years of full-time development experience as a professional full-stack software engineer. Side projects are great, but we’re looking for experience scaling real-world applications.
  • Extensive experience in TypeScript, using React for frontend and NestJS for backend.
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases: Comfortable designing schemas, writing and optimizing SQL queries, managing migrations, and working with ORMs like Prisma.
  • Proven ability to build and ship production-grade apps in cloud environments (AWS or equivalent).
  • Experience in integrating LLMs/AI APIs into user-facing products.
  • Collaborative experience working with diverse teams, not just other developers.
  • The ability to think in terms of users, outcomes, and value, not just features.
  • Appetite for ambiguity, iteration, and building from scratch.

  • Worked in an early-stage startup or founding team.
  • Built or contributed to HR/recruiting tools.
  • Scaled AI-powered features in real products.
  • Developed a knack for balancing speed with quality and technical debt.

Work Location

We operate on a hybrid model, with our teams working in the office about 80% of the week and remotely the rest. This balance gives us the best mix of in-person collaboration and individual focus time.

If you’re only able to be in the office for monthly or quarterly visits, we’d consider that a remote role.

Priority will be given to candidates who can relocate to Tulsa, OK, but exceptional candidates may be considered for remote work arrangements. Tulsa is home to our venture studio and a growing community of founders, builders, and creatives.
