That means writing clear requirements, anticipating engineering questions before they become blockers, and treating every feature as an opportunity to reinforce trust in our platforms. 

This is not a passive support function. The team operates at the intersection of product strategy, engineering collaboration, and stakeholder communication, requiring equal parts technical fluency and interpersonal skill. We move fast, we solve problems, and we hold ourselves to a high standard, because the people who use our platforms do too. 

ABOUT THE ROLE 

We are seeking a full-time Product Owner dedicated entirely to AI-focused initiatives, spanning at least three of BIP Capital's internal platforms rather than a single product. In this role, you will own backlog prioritization for AI features, write detailed user stories and acceptance criteria, manage incoming service desk requests related to AI work, and partner closely with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders. 

This role offers a unique opportunity to build meaningful working relationships across engineering and leadership while developing hands-on expertise in AI product development within a complex, regulated domain. You will operate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and contribute directly to BIP Capital's ability to deliver reliable, well-built AI features across the firm. 

Location: Hybrid, with ability to be on-site when required out of Buckhead / Atlanta, GA office. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

The role requires a mix of interpersonal and analytical skills. As a Product Owner, you will support AI product delivery across three core areas: 

AI Feature Delivery 

• Write clear, detailed user stories and acceptance criteria specifically for AI-native features, translating ambiguous AI capabilities into requirements engineers can build against. 

• Own medium-to-large AI features end-to-end, from epics and stories through release, with minimal oversight. 

• Perform acceptance testing and quality assurance on user stories to ensure features meet requirements and are free of critical defects before release. 

Backlog & Stakeholder Management 

• Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring the team is consistently focused on delivering high-value AI work. 

• Lead grooming and sprint planning sessions; keep the backlog 3–4 sprints ahead with 'ready' work. 

• Serve as the primary liaison between engineering and business stakeholders, including senior leadership; communicate clearly and confidently as priorities and direction evolve. 

• Manage AI-related requirements across at least three of BIP Capital's internal platforms, ensuring they are clear, traceable, and aligned across stakeholders and workstreams. 

Service Desk & Operational Support 

• Own day-to-day triage and resolution of AI-related service desk requests, maintaining a 24–48-hour SLA for responses and escalating as appropriate. 

• Lead sprint reviews, gather and document stakeholder feedback to continuously improve the product and inform backlog prioritization. 

• Create process flows, user guides, and internal documentation as needed. 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS 

Education and Experience 

• BS or BA preferred, in computer science, business, or a related field; equivalent work experience is welcomed. 

• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or in product management, specifically with software, platform, or web-based products. 

• Demonstrated, hands-on experience building AI-native products or features, not simply using AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT for personal productivity. You should be able to speak to specific AI features you've scoped, written stories for, and shipped with an engineering team. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

• Jira is the primary tool; Confluence is a plus. Experience with Rally or equivalent Agile platforms is acceptable. Strong familiarity with the software development lifecycle is expected. 

• Comfortable working within complex domains, including finance or venture capital concepts. You don't need to arrive as an expert, but you must be willing and able to learn quickly. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and stakeholders, and to adjust smoothly as priorities and direction evolve. 

• Friendly, curious, and emotionally intelligent. You build rapport easily, especially with engineers, adapt to various personalities and bring energy that improves team dynamics. 

• Comfortable operating within shifting priorities and frequent pivots. Open to feedback and quick to adapt, you see ambiguity as a normal part of a fast-paced environment. 

• Ability to gather and interpret information to support product decisions and backlog prioritization.

SUCCESS METRICS 

• At 90 Days: Demonstrate strong working knowledge of BIP Capital's relevant internal platforms and team workflows. Build positive working relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, by leading sprint ceremonies, triaging AI-related service desk requests within the 24–48-hour SLA, and contributing well-written user stories for AI features. Maintain a backlog with 2–3 sprints of groomed, ready work. 

• At Six Months: Independently triage and resolve 95% of service desk requests within SLA. Lead sprint ceremonies consistently and maintain backlog management 3–4 sprints ahead. Own at least one medium-to-large AI feature end-to-end, delivering quality work from user story through release. 

• At One Year: Independently manage the backlog and own 2+ active medium-to-large AI projects end-to-end across BIP Capital's internal platforms. Contribute strategic insights to product decisions and roadmap planning, and become a trusted resource and go-to voice for AI product direction
