The Supply Management Team supports SAIT through the management of centralized purchasing, strategic sourcing, contract management, credit card administration, travel, and supply chain management to the campus.
Reporting directly to the Manager, Supply Management, the Supply Chain Intern is a student worker position to support Supply Management team in daily purchasing administrative tasks. The role will give the Intern Student opportunity to learn procurement services and supply chain solutions.
As a member of the Supply Management team, this position will be an active contributor in supporting the efficiency of SAIT’s supply chain management. The Supply Chain Intern will work as part of Supply Chain Enablement team to administer SAIT’s supply programs like credit card, travel, office supplies, and more. The Supply Chain Intern will also be assisting Purchasing Officers’ with their procurement workload and contract filing. The Supply Chain Intern will have the opportunity to learn SAIT’s supply chain process and procedure and gain good knowledge in supply chain management.
How you'll contribute
Supply Chain Management and supporting SAIT’s credit card, travel, office supplies, MRO, and other supply programs’ administrationSupply Management Process & Procedures Review:Provide support to review the process and procedures of Supply Management team. Update and refresh of the document as required.Spend Analysis & Supply Chain KPI development:Provide support with development of supply chain scorecards and KPIsGenerate Spend Analysis as required to provide business intelligence to Purchasing TeamPurchasing workload support & market intelligence:Provide support to generate purchase orders and manage purchasing administrationResearch market and provide commodity intelligence to purchasing teamContract Filing & Vendor Set-up Support:Provide support to purchasing team for filing contracts and organize contract dataProvide support for supplier qualification and review. Administer vendor set up on SAIT’s ERP system.
What you bring
Must be enrolled in SAIT Supply Chain Management ProgramA Supply Chain Diploma is preferredSCMA’s SMT completed would be an assetSome purchasing / logistics experience would be an assetSupply Chain related certifications are preferred
