Description
Scentsy is looking for a Category Manager to manage strategy implementation for a portfolio of products ensuring the company continues to offer a product line-up that delivers a strong and differentiated value. In addition, Category Managers work collaboratively to develop comprehensive go-to-market strategies that bolster sales of assigned categories.
What You'll Do:
- Contribute to the development of strategic product lifecycle plans, product positioning, and category mix
- Work cross-functionally to develop competitive pricing and promotions for assigned category
- Work cross-functionally to develop demand forecasts and manage inventory levels through channel and promotional activities
- Work cross-functionally to communicate and address QA issues and inventory stock-outs of products within the category
- Conduct ongoing research to ensure future strength of product lines
- Develop and implement comprehensive programs and promotional strategies that maximize sales and category growth
- Work collaboratively with leadership to build a collective roadmap across categories
- Make day-to-day recommendations and decisions regarding category direction and strategy implementation
- Develop comprehensive documentation that outlines the core fundamentals for products and programs
- Identify resource needs, roles, and responsibilities and ensure resource alignment across functional teams
- Typically manage one or more medium to high impact categories or multiple pieces to high impact categories
- Develop project schedules
- Evaluate, document, and report project status, issues, and risks
- Coordinate training, communication, and GTM planning with cross-functional teams
- Manage change and identify and track changes to project scope, including the impacts of each change
- Track and report on project performance
- Work closely with leadership to evaluate project alignment with strategic vision and assess the overall health of the category’s projects: schedule, scope, and budget
- Gain and retain buy-in for changes from key project stakeholders
- Identify project performance variances and recommend corrective actions to leadership
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data about Consultant and customer behaviors, trends, competition, and the market
- Contribute to the development of improved processes and workflow systems
- Perform all other assigned tasks and requirements as needed
We're Looking For:
- 6 years of experience managing a variety of categories, programs, or products
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred
- Knowledge of the direct sales industry preferred
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced analytical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to look strategically across multiple categories and make effective recommendations
- Advanced planning, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Ability to manage all project management activities for large, moderately complex, medium to high-impact projects
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships
- Ability to influence key stakeholders
