Description

The Bridge offers supportive housing and behavioral health services to vulnerable New Yorkers facing behavioral health and substance use challenges. We provide individuals with the tools they need to pursue their dreams and live meaningful lives. As a recognized leader in developing and operating supportive housing and community-based programs, The Bridge has 70 years of experience helping New Yorkers with mental illness, including those affected by homelessness, incarceration, and institutionalization.   


Scope of Position: Under the supervision of the Director of Residential Staff Outreach & Development, the Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the acquisition, development, and retention of staff within the Residential Services division of The Bridge, which employs over 500 staff across 35 programs.


Essential Position Functions:

  • Assist with screening applicants, routing résumés, and conducting interviews.
  • Complete initial employment paperwork and conduct reference checks.
  • Work closely with the Human Resources division to ensure timely communication and completion of the hiring process.
  • Travel to programs in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Brooklyn to help organize and facilitate hiring events.
  • Complete weekly reports and maintain spreadsheets related to staff acquisition and retention.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and best practices related to employee hiring.
  • Attend staff meetings, supervision sessions, and training as required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Residential Staff Outreach & Development.


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, or Associate’s degree with related experience.
  • Excellent time management skills; able to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Flexible, creative, and open to feedback; strong team player.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications; solid analytical and project management skills.
  • Experience working in mental health programs, including crisis intervention and managing trauma-triggered behaviors, is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the five boroughs of New York City.
