Long Term Music Substitute Teacher chez Magnolia Elementary

The music long term substitute assignment will be broken-up into 2 separate timeframes: 10/31/25 - 12/19/25 (30 days) and 03/23/26 - 05/01/26 (25 days), dates are subject to change at any time. There is a possibility that the assignment could be extended. The daily rate is based on the tier of $195, $200, $205 + the additional long term rate of $15 per day to act as the teacher of record. Work schedule is subject to change anytime at the District's discretion. Optional Work During the times that the music assignment is not scheduled, the person hired for this position will have the opportunity to work as a long term roving substitute teacher (Monday - Friday). The roving substitute is notified (via the GroupMe app) the morning of the assignment as to which site they will be working at. Grade level and whether the assignment is regular or special education will not be known until arrival at the school site. The majority of the placements are in a special education classroom. The daily rate is based on the tier of $195, $200, $205 (no long term rate of pay will be associated with this portion of the assignment). If the person hired for the long term music position is not interested in the additional roving substitute assignment, they will be placed on the regular substitute list for day-to-day assignments.

To apply for the position of Long Term Music Substitute Teacher you must meet one (1) of the minimum requirements below: - Multiple Subject Teaching credential w/EL authorization and supplementary authorization in music OR - Single Subject Music credential w/EL authorization OR - Eligibility to apply for a Short-Term Staff Permit (STSP) with one of the following requirements: a) Bachelor's degree major in subject area (music) b) At least 18 semester units in subject area (music) c) 9 upper division units in subject area (music)

SALARY The daily salary ranges from $195-$205 daily. In addition to the daily rate, all long term assignments (serving as the teacher of record) will add an additional $15.00 per day. All School Readiness Preschool Teacher assignments will add an additional $10.00 per day.
