Key Responsibilities
- Develop a zero-injury safety culture on each assigned project
- Conduct weekly documented jobsite safety inspections
- Identify project trends and execute proactive safety initiatives to eliminate incidents
- Assist with incident investigations on projects and act as a resource to our project teams
- Plan and coordinate an overall occupation safety and health program for employees.
- Identifies conditions which create hazards for workers, and the public.
- Works with project team to eliminate unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Coordinates and implements safety trainings and employee onboarding.
- Acts as a liaison between management and field employees on Health and Safety items.
- Assures compliance with Company safety policies and OSHA safety standards.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in health and safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related field at an accredited university.
- 2-3 years of Construction experience can substitute the bachelor’s degree requirement
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals
- Very strong work ethic with the willingness to travel
- Ability to travel to specified construction projects in and out of the Chicagoland area.
- Capable to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi floor scaffolding
- Ability to lift objects at least 50lbs
- 0-1 years of experience is great, however, candidates who have an interest in all things’ safety are encouraged to apply. We will train.
