About the Role
We’re seeking a dependable, licensed Security Specialist to join our evening shift team in Columbia, MO. In this role, you’ll be the visible, proactive presence that ensures safety, enforces access control, and provides exceptional customer service in a regulated retail environment. You’ll partner with local law enforcement when needed and document all security-related incidents with accuracy and detail.
What You'll Do
Security Presence & Defense: Serve as the first line of protection for staff, patrons, and property.
Hazard Awareness: Proactively identify and address potential safety concerns.
Risk Assessment: Conduct ongoing evaluations to reduce security vulnerabilities.
Access Control: Monitor and manage restricted areas in compliance with regulations.
Customer Guidance: Assist patrons, visitors, and employees with professionalism and courtesy.
Collaboration: Coordinate with law enforcement and other security personnel to uphold the highest safety standards.
Incident Response: Address and resolve security concerns promptly.
Incident Documentation: Accurately record and report all incidents and observations.
What We're Looking For
Eligibility: Must provide two valid forms of ID and authorization to work in the U.S.
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Professional Demeanor: Calm, composed, and customer-service oriented.
Communication Skills: Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus.
Background & Screening: Must pass urinalysis (site-dependent) and criminal background check.
Transportation: Reliable transportation to and from work.
Technology Skills: Basic tech literacy; must own a working smartphone and have an accessible email account.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs. in various weather and environmental conditions.
