Position Summary:  

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must meet all of the Technician I, II & III requirements

• Demonstrate the people skills necessary to oversee all Test Department personnel assigned to their line

• Oversee department personnel safety

• Provide feedback, support and training as needed to assure that Technical Department personnel meet rate and quality requirements

• Communicate current department status to area supervisor in a timely manner

• Demonstrate competence in using the MRP system (Epicor) for:

      o Logging personnel on and off jobs

      o Verify Job Error Processing and making corrections

      o Use BOM to verify part values and tolerances

• Maintain area

• Coordinate with supervisors to assure maximum efficiency in completing product repairs

• Issue and verify all tools, fixtures and supplies needed to run the department

• Maintain technician stations’ software as updates become available or new positions are added

• Use microscopes and precision soldering stations to repair/rework and assemble very small surface components including 0402 size passives, MLF/QFN/MLP package IC’s and fine pitch IC’s

• Use common test equipment in testing and troubleshooting including equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, temperature chambers and communication test sets

• Familiarity with test equipment

Requirements

Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong computer skills including Microsoft office required

• Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills

• Good analytical skills

• Very detail-oriented, accurate and organized

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Able to work independently and as part of a team

• Confidentiality and time management

Qualifications:

• Education: ASEE or ASEET degree and/or equivalent experience

• Experience: 2+ years

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

• Work typically takes place in a normal production environment requiring: lifting, kneeling, crouching, reaching, hearing and:

      o Handling - large/small tools, radios, parts, keyboard manipulation

      o Sitting – at desk/stations

      o Standing – oversee stations

      o Talking – communicating work to be done, training on equipment and communicating with manufacturing

      o Vision – ability to focus, monitors, test equipment

      o Walking – to various stations in manufacturing

      o Carrying – 0-20 pounds 

• Operate a PC and other office equipment

• Operate microscopes, multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, temperature chambers, communication test sets

• Travel between floors and office buildings may be required

• Environmental conditions: noise, vibration, oils, solvents, chemicals
