Description
As the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will oversee the design, development, and execution of electrical engineering projects in support of ASG Power’s product lines. You will lead a small team of engineers and technicians in delivering high-quality, standards-compliant solutions to customers in the industrial automation and renewable energy sectors. This position reports directly to the General Manager and plays a critical role in shaping the company’s technical strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary electrical engineering team, ensuring on-time and high-quality project delivery.
- Design and develop control panels, renewable energy protection systems and data center power configurations in compliance with UL and ISO standards.
- Interpret customer requirements, specifications and documentation and collaborate with production, quality assurance, and sales teams to translate customer requirements into manufacturable solutions.
- Prepare preliminary and final CAD submittals, BOMs and other documentation as needed to support proposals and final manufacturing and assembly (this is an individual contributor and manager role).
- Drive innovation in design processes, tools, and techniques to improve performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation including schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
- Provide technical leadership during product development lifecycle, including design reviews and risk analysis.
- Manage engineering resources and project schedules to meet company goals and customer timelines.
- Support quality control and testing to ensure all products meet rigorous safety and performance standards.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 7 years of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC codes and UL508A, UL891, UL687A, UL98B requirements and ISO9001 standards.
- Proven experience in design and implementation of automation control systems and/or renewable power circuitry.
- Experience with electrical CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical).
- Excellent leadership, project management, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley/ Rockwell products is highly desirable.
- Experience with data center electrical designs is a plus.
- Experience with EPICOR or similar MRP.
- Immediate hire, start within 2 weeks.
- Ability to work on-site full time in Rocky Hill, CT.
