You'll spend your time:
- Collaborating in the design of sophisticated power electronics concepts based on functional and non-functional requirements
- Scoping and designing electronic hardware, including but not limited to, power electronics and control/communications
- Using advanced simulation tools to produce high-fidelity models of electronic systems, in combination with electromagnetic and control systems
- Advising on all aspects of electronic equipment design to meet project requirements using prototyping, simulation, verification & validation
- Researching new converter technologies and topologies to enhance product performance, and working with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transition into production
The key experience we're looking for:
- Development experience designing high-speed power electronics, including advanced semiconductors like SiC and GaN, and dealing with the challenges of very high switching frequencies
- Extensive experience with 3-phase converters, and familiarity with different converter topologies
- Experience using MATLAB Simulink, SPICE or similar for systems design
- MEng / MSc Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Physics or equivalent
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary environment
- Min 5 years experience in industry (or academic research) fields related to electrical and power systems design, implementation and testing
- Experience with soft-switching power electronics
- Familiarity with symbolic math software like Mathematica
