SUMMARY OF DUTIES

The Marketing Specialist is primarily responsible for creating video, graphic design, and other digital and print content to build University brand and support the recruitment and retention of Gwynedd Mercy University students.  This part-time position is ideal for someone with strong video production and graphic design skills who wants to work remotely. Essential Functions 


Video Production 

  • Participate in video storyboarding meetings, gather needed footage from colleagues, and manage the video production, review and approval process, including the development of long- and short-form video and B-Roll assets

Graphic Design

  • Partner with Creative Services Manager to develop print and digital content using InDesign
  • Create social media templates, including digital ad graphics, and other content in partnership with Director of Marketing and Social Media

Website 

  • Make website updates using the University’s Content Management System (Cascade), as assigned
  • Develop SEO/AI content, as assigned
  • Manage heat-mapping sessions and share findings with Digital Content Manager to implement recommendations

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide ad hoc media interview coordination support, as needed
  • Assist in print and out-of-home ad placement management and design, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field and 3-5 years of experience. 

Technical Skills 
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Premier Pro, and PhotoShop.  Experience with content management systems (Cascade experience preferred); familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and various browsers.  Proficient in using Microsoft Office.  


Language Skills 
 
Excellent communication skills, including listening skills. Ability to analyze, interpret and communicate project goals. Ability to represent the University on a professional level. 
 

Mathematical Skills 
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. 
 
Reasoning Ability 
 
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently on projects and manage multiple tasks. Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet many critical deadlines. 

Interpersonal Skills 
Ability to work independently and interact with others effectively; maintain confidentiality; thrive in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment; ability to multi-task, change direction, set priorities, meet deadlines, and solve problems a must.  Discretion and good judgment also a must.
