The CMG LPN Clinic Supervisor acts as a clinical leader in the daily function of a specified CMG clinic and is responsible for the planning, organizing, monitoring, and coordination of professional nursing practice activities in collaboration with operational leaders. The LPN Clinic Supervisor utilizes role models, and mentors others in the nursing process, coordination of patient care, as well as in the use of current evidence-based nursing practice interventions. The LPN Clinic Supervisor provides leadership and support to his or her team, which promotes excellence in nursing practice and staff engagement.  The LPN Clinical Supervisor’s practice reflects the American Nurses Association’s (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, the ANA Scope of Standards for Nurse Administrators and the Nurse Practice Act of Virginia. 

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities
•    Duties and responsibilities include those required of the clinical nurse, preceptor and charge nurse role.
•    Provides leadership and support to his/her team which promotes excellence in nursing practice, patient outcomes and                  caregiver engagement and, in partnership with operational leader, is accountable for performance results of the clinic.
•    The LPN Clinic Supervisor assists with direct patient care as needed to ensure that staffing needs are met - supervises and            coordinates the delivery of patient care (maintains unit competencies). 
•    This role supervises the small clinical team. Roles supervised include Medical Assistants (MAs), Licensed Practical Nurses                 (LPNs), and other assistive personnel as appropriate.
•    Collaborates with operational leaders in ensuring new staff orientation plans are developed and completed.
•    Assists the operational leader in the development of the unit budget and in meeting productivity targets. 
•    Attends service line and CMG committee meetings as assigned
•    Collaborates with the operational leader in improving flow and capacity processes through collaborative interdepartmental           work relationships. 
•    Serves as a resource for safety and quality initiatives; following up on any identified concerns. 
•    Oversees unit scheduling with the operational leader to ensure adequate staffing plans are developed.
•    Coordinates with CMG Educator to provide staff education. 
•    Works with the operational leader to create action plans for regulatory compliance, experience and quality outcomes as well        as monitors compliance with these plans. 
•    Fosters teamwork through ongoing coaching, feedback and encouraging staff input with decision-making, resolution of                conflict, and collegiality among all health team members; recognizing staff for their successes
•    Collaborates with the operational leader in the interview process of new staff.
•    Manages Human Resource functions including but not limited to scheduling, performance reviews, interviewing potential            hires and disciplinary action (in collaboration with operational leader)
•    Provides immediate support on policy, procedures, equipment and supplies as needed.
•    Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and colleagues – ability to provide meaningful service      recovery as needed.
•    Models and supports diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.
•    Collaborates with the operational leader on maintaining, monitoring, and ordering of supplies for appropriate inventory.
•    Encourages and facilitates participation of unit-based staff on department and organization wide councils/committees.
•    Facilitates assignments that support learning for the orientee or nurse learner.
•    Maintains accurate and appropriate employee timekeeping.
•    Coordinates, facilitates, participates or directs clinical projects with follow-through and appropriate follow-up.
•    Supports laboratory staff and services, as applicable.
•    Other projects and duties as directed.
 

Qualifications

Education: 
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program. 


Work Experience:
Two (2) years of nursing experience  
Previous Charge Nurse or other Leadership Experience preferred


Licenses & Certifications Minimum
Licensed as an LPN in the state of Virginia (may hold compact license)
Hold current AHA BLS card
