Job Description
About the Role
As Income Tax Analyst, you will work with members of the Tax Department to prepare the Company’s federal, state and local income tax returns and assist in monitoring federal and state income tax laws to determine the impact of new legislation on the Company.
What You’ll Do
Assist with researching and implementing tax savings strategies related to Kohl’s business plans
Analyze and interpret information to accurately report Kohl’s income tax position
Research income tax laws and rulings
Prepare timely and accurate income tax filings
Ensure compliance with applicable jurisdictional regulations and internal policies and procedures
Maintain knowledge of relationships between company accounting records and income tax reporting requirements
Objectively question existing processes and procedures
Explore new ways to use current technology
Identify opportunities for improving accuracy and/or efficiency
Recommend improvements within the designated work area
Support implementation of process improvement solutions
Assess potential and/or actual transactions and analyze alternatives
Develop and maintain expertise in analyzing tax implications of business decisions and industry trends
Present relevant findings to tax department leadership
Additional tasks may be assigned
What Skills You Have
Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant field, or equivalent experience
Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and other Financial Software programs
Accounting, budgeting and forecasting skills
Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, time management and teamwork mindset
Preferred
Retail industry experience
Adept multitasker
