Job Summary:
- Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician assists in the various activities within the Pharmacy Department. These activities can include, but need not be limited to: maintaining patient records; setting up, packaging, and labeling medication doses; performing designated tasks regarding processing of equipment and supply orders, and Assist Pharmacy Clinical Trials team in Managing , storing , dispensing , labeling, distributing and recordkeeping of Investigational Drug. Technicians must function in strict accordance with standard, written procedures and guidelines with any deviation approved by the supervising pharmacist.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Active and clear Licensure with the Florida State Board of Pharmacy
Additional Qualifications:
- Clinical Trials experience Preferred

- Three years experience Required
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist Pharmacy Clinical Trials team in Managing , storing , dispensing , labeling, distributing and recordkeeping of Investigational Drug. Participate on Investigational Drug training as required per protocol.
- Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies, procedures and protocols and within specified time frame.
- Promotes the effective operation of the department by answering the telephone and identifying self, department and directing calls to appropriate personnel.
- Organizes and prioritizes work assignments maintaining logs, records and other required documentation accurately.
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and keeps pharmacy areas clean, neat and well organized, keeping pharmacy equipment clean.
- Manage ADM (Automated Dispensing Machines – Pyxis) inventory, including accurate selection and loading of medications, organize according to ISMP safety initiatives, evaluate medication use trends to maintain appropriate par levels, ensure removal of expired/damaged products in a timely manner and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage departmental medication request in a timely manner, including ordering, documenting, communicating out of stock or shortages, and transferring medications to the department.
- Manage emergency supply inventory in kits, including ordering and maintaining adequate supply, accurately restocking, organizing to ensure consistent placement and uniformity, documenting medications used for charge purposes, removal of expired/damaged products and performing monthly checks on each unit.
- Accurately prepare medications in unit of use containers, ensuring correct labeling of medication, precise mixing of ingredients and documentation as required by state regulation.
- Record and maintain records for temperature and humidity as required by state regulation, ensuring that medications and environmental conditions are kept at appropriate levels per hospital policy.
