Position: Training Manager
Shift: Day Shift
Compensation: Depending on Experience $65-80 K
Overview:
The Training Manager at Manufacturing Maintenance Solutions (MMS) is responsible for developing and leading technical and compliance training programs for maintenance personnel in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures employees are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to support equipment reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Core Competencies
- Training Development & Delivery: Expertise in designing and delivering technical and soft skills training across various formats (in-person, eLearning, hybrid).
- Instructional Design: Proficiency in adult learning principles, curriculum development, and instructional technologies.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, maintenance procedures, and industrial automation.
- CMMS & LMS Proficiency: Skilled in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (e.g., Fiix, SAP PM) and Learning Management Systems (e.g., Paylocity LMS).
- Data Analysis: Ability to interpret maintenance and training data to drive performance improvements.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with OSHA, GMP, FDA, and internal audit standards.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills to lead initiatives and engage stakeholders.
- Digital Fluency: Experience with eLearning tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate), MS Office Suite, and HRIS platforms
Key Responsibilities
Training Strategy & Execution
- Conduct training needs assessments in collaboration with HR, Maintenance, and Operations.
- Design and implement training programs for technical skills, safety, compliance, and leadership development.
- Develop and maintain role-based competency matrices and job-specific training plans (onboarding, cross-training, upskilling).
- ·Deliver training sessions using classroom, hands-on, and digital platforms.
Content Development & Documentation
- Create and standardize training materials incorporating manuals, SOPs, PM procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Collaborate with SMEs, OEMs, and vendors to ensure technical accuracy and relevance.
- Maintain training records and certifications in LMS.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure training programs meet regulatory and internal compliance standards.
- Support audits and inspections by maintaining accurate documentation.
- Evaluate training effectiveness using KPIs (e.g., OEE, MTTR, PM compliance) and feedback mechanisms.
- Contribute to lean, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives through targeted training
Stakeholder Engagement & Vendor Management
- Partner with Production, Quality, EHS, and Engineering to align training with business goals.
- Manage training budgets and relationships with external training providers
Requirements
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in training and development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in technical training within a manufacturing or maintenance environment.
- Proficiency in LMS, CMMS, and eLearning tools.
- Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPLP, CTDP, CMRP).
- OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent.
- Experience with predictive maintenance technologies, IoT, and data analytics.
- Familiarity with performance management systems and change management practices.
Technology Requirements
- LMS (e.g., Paylocity), CMMS (e.g., Fiix, SAP PM), MS Office Suite.
- eLearning tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate).
- HRIS and performance management systems.
Other Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a mix of office and shop floor presence (PPE required).
- Occasional travel to customer or vendor sites.
