Sentara Health is now hiring a Licensed Behavioral Health Therapist for the Psychiatric Emergency Response team. This position will be onsite at Sentara RMH Medical Center but will complete assessments for emergency department patients across the entire Sentara system who are having a mental health crisis.
Work schedule : Monday - Friday, day shift
Education
Master’s Degree – Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or other related field
Certification/Licensure
- Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
- Will consider applicants that are in pursuit of licensure
Experience
- At least 1 year of crisis experience highly desired
- Must have strong communication skills, oral and written
- Ability and willingness to supervise licensed-eligible staff
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assesses the social, psychological, cultural, environmental, and financial situation, as well as disposition needs, for each assigned patient.
- Collaborates with patients, families, healthcare team members, and community agencies to develop and implement plans to address identified needs.
- Evaluates effectiveness of developed plans and initiates change as needed.
