Job Description

Position Purpose

Lead all aspects of operating BCQC unit at Thermo Fisher Lengnau site, managing projects and tasks.

Technical Responsibilities

Processes and Methods Implementation:

• Coordinate actions to establish processes and relevant analytical methods for testing finished products, in-process controls, intermediates, raw materials, utility, and cleaning samples.
• Write and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) and instructions (WIs) professionally and according to timelines.
• Review and approve methods, plans, protocols, and reports as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
• Procure, qualify, calibrate, and maintain analytical and infrastructure equipment.
• Develop, transfer, and validate analytical procedures professionally and according to timelines.
• Review analytical raw data, equipment qualification/maintenance raw data, and other documentation in Biochemical QC.

Project Leadership:

• Represent BCQC in projects, workgroups, and local and global initiatives.
• Promote clarity and understanding of site/company strategy through effective and timely communication within project teams.
• Lead the implementation of local and global projects within the QC department and ensure data-driven workload for each project.
• Drive project team collaboration and align with the company’s core values.
• Coordinate prioritised resources in collaboration with QC colleagues and their supervisor.
• Support continuous improvement of QC compliance and performance.

QC Execution:

• Document and deposit raw data, results, reports, and journals.
• Assist in resolving issues related to (bio)-chemical analytics and health authority requests.
• Investigate deviations timely and in compliance.
• Efficiently communicate by informing the head of BCQC about ongoing business and issues and sharing necessary information with sponsors, collaborators, customers, partners, and team members.
• Mentor QC colleagues in GMP and Quality Control practices.
• Support recruitment within the team.

As DI Single Point of Contact (SPOC):

• Act as liaison between departmental teams and the DI officer.
• Ensure regular DI Surveillance through Gemba Walks, internal DI moments, huddles, and trainings.
