Project Overview:

You will be working on a live well known UK ecommerce website that requires advanced data analytics to inform key business decisions. The project involves:
  • Developing and optimising data pipelines to analyse large datasets.
  • Implementing solutions to drive marketing and sales strategies based on data insights.
  • Refactoring existing codebases on AWS to improve performance and scalability.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and DevOps.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis and Insights:
  • Develop robust Python scripts and applications to process and analyse large volumes of data.
  • Create algorithms and models to extract actionable insights that drive marketing and sales initiatives.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the data processing lifecycle.

AWS Solution Refactoring and Optimization:
  • Refactor existing AWS infrastructure to enhance performance, scalability, and security.
  • Implement best practices for AWS services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and others.
  • Automate deployment and management processes using AWS tools and frameworks.

Application Development:
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Python code that meets client requirements.
  • Optimise applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Conduct code reviews.

Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand project goals and requirements.
  • Coordinate with data scientists, DevOps engineers, and other developers to deliver seamless solutions.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical team members and clients.

Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Python development.
  • Proven experience working on live, high-traffic websites or applications.
  • Extensive experience with data processing libraries and frameworks (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
  • Strong background in AWS services and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn) is a plus.

Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Python and related frameworks (Django, Flask).
  • Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is advantageous.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Proficient in version control systems like Git.
