What does it mean to be a Senior Training Specialist at GLS?
The Senior Training Specialist executes the company’s Learning & Development strategy by partnering with senior leaders and key stakeholders to identify organizational learning needs, design and deliver effective programs, and evaluate program outcomes. This role also leads a team of Training Specialists across job levels.
How will you drive value within the organization as a Senior Training Specialist?
Consult with stakeholders to align learning and development programs with corporate objectives.
Design clean, impactful learning content and presentations with strong visual quality.
Develop high-quality, objective-based learning content that is interactive, engaging, timely, accurate, targeted, and aligned with program goals.
Apply instructional design methodologies, adult-learning principles, technology, tools, and best practices to deliver learning programs and measure effectiveness.
Facilitate training as needed to support staffing needs, develop training staff, and maintain strong personal facilitation skills.
Evaluate, select, implement, and manage assigned systems and vendor relationships to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Supervises Training Specialists, including assigning work, coaching performance, supporting performance reviews, and recommending employment actions as appropriate.
Motivate, develop, and coach staff by setting clear performance expectations and maintaining accountability.
Manage day-to-day Learning & Development operations, balance workloads, optimize team output, and oversee related administrative activities.
Maintain training resources and calendars to support business outcomes, including logistics for learning events such as schedules, travel, and resource planning.
Participate in special projects as needed.
Perform other assignments as required by company needs or management direction.
What should you already know to be successful as a Senior Training Specialist?
Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources development or a related field required. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree,
Minimum five years’ progressive experience in training facilitation and/or operations management required.
Demonstrated proficiency in instructional design, adult-learning principles, and training best practices strongly preferred.
Exemplary presentation design and delivery skills.
Strong collaboration skills and ability to coordinate effectively with others.
Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact with employees at all levels.
Strong supervisory, management, and leadership skills.
Familiarity with basic project management principles.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including tact, influence, negotiation, sound judgment, confidentiality, and effective interaction across all organizational levels.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
Self-motivated and able to take initiative, identify needs, recommend improvements, implement solutions, and evaluate results.
Excellent consulting, client management, and business literacy skills, with understanding of corporate and business unit challenges.
Proficient with standard business applications, including Microsoft Office, and able to quickly learn new systems as needed.

This is an exempt position; business needs will determine the work schedule, which may vary.
Regular, predictable attendance is required, including overtime as business needs dictate.
