Description

At Churchfront, we are convinced that technology—when combined with enduring truths—has the power to reveal new possibilities in ministry. As a national AVL integrator, we support churches throughout the United States by designing and installing clear, dependable, and distraction-free systems that enable churches to utilize technology wisely and enhance their impact in the kingdom.

We are seeking an AVL Junior Technician to join our on-site installation team. This is an entry-level position intended for individuals eager to learn, ready to work diligently, and enthusiastic about pursuing a career in AVL technology—prior experience is not required.

About the Role

The AVL Junior Technician role is a practical, field-oriented position where you will gain hands-on experience in audio, video, and lighting installation from the basics up. Under the guidance of our Installation Foreman and senior technicians, you will hone your skills in essential installation tasks—such as cable pulling, terminations, equipment mounting, rack assembly, and basic rigging—while contributing to significant projects in active construction and renovation settings.

This is not a desk job. You will be climbing ladders, working in ceilings, and staying on your feet all day. We are committed to investing in your development, but we expect you to bring enthusiasm, humility, and a strong desire to improve every single day.

What You’ll Be Doing

Installation Execution

Assist in tasks such as cable pulls, terminations, labeling, testing, equipment mounting, and rack assembly under the mentorship of senior technicians and the Installation Foreman. Learn to interpret and follow installation plans and cabling schematics provided by our design and engineering team. Aim to achieve exceptional results in every task—attention to detail and adherence to Churchfront’s standards and industry best practices should be considered the minimum requirement.

Job Site Preparation & Maintenance

Contribute to job site preparation—unloading and organizing equipment, verifying inventory against project documentation, and arranging materials for optimal workflow. Ensure a clean, safe, and organized workspace throughout each project. Take responsibility for the care of tools and equipment, ensuring installation kits are fully stocked and ready for use.

Rigging Support

Assist with rigging tasks under close supervision, learning safe practices for hanging speakers, displays, and lighting fixtures in accordance with manufacturer specifications, structural requirements, and industry standards.

Communication & Professionalism

Keep your team updated—report progress, raise issues promptly, and communicate any material needs to the Foreman or project manager. Don’t hesitate to ask questions if you are uncertain. When interacting with church staff, general contractors, and other trades on-site, you are representing Churchfront—act accordingly.

Training & Development

Proactively work on enhancing your skills from your first day—be attentive, take notes, seek feedback, and pursue certifications as they become available. While we will provide mentorship and a structured training path, your motivation is key.

Team Participation

Actively engage in project preparation, team meetings, and company events. Keep your credentials for company tools and systems up-to-date. Submit hours, expense reports, and time-off requests punctually. Assist with shop assembly, equipment preparation, and other tasks as needed between field deployments..

Requirements

Who We’re Seeking

This position is suited for individuals who are eager to work and ready to learn. While previous experience in AVL is not necessary, we do expect the right attitude, character, and work ethic. We are searching for candidates who take charge of their personal development and consistently show up prepared to seize their next opportunity.

You will excel in this role if you:

  • Prioritize results over excuses.
  • Arrive on time, every time, fully prepared to work.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and adjust to changing conditions at active job sites.
  • Communicate effectively, follow through on commitments, and ensure no details are overlooked.
  • Care about the mission of the work, rather than just the salary.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal communication skills—you can clearly give and receive instructions.
  • Reliable, organized, and capable of maintaining focus during long, physically demanding shifts.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities—you think critically before taking action.
  • Skilled at managing multiple tasks and accurately following both verbal and written directions.
  • Comfortable working independently on assigned tasks while recognizing when to seek assistance.

Qualifications

  • No previous AVL experience is required—we will provide training.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel is required.
  • OSHA-10 certification is preferred but not mandatory (willingness to obtain it is necessary).
  • A teachable mindset and a strong work ethic are essential.

Physical & Working Environment

This role requires significant physical activity in active construction settings. The following requirements should be met:

  • Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift up to 75 lbs to shoulder height.
  • Push, pull, or move up to 90 lbs over short distances using carts.
  • Stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, and reach (including overhead) for over 8 hours daily.
  • Climb and work at heights of 6+ feet using ladders, lifts, or scaffolding.
  • Work in diverse conditions, including noise, dust, temperature variations, and limited lighting.

Work Schedule & Compensation

  • This is a full-time role. Core operating hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM ET.
  • Overtime may be required on-site to meet project deadlines.
  • Compensation is hourly and reflects effort, growth, and contribution.

Location & Travel

This role is located in Melbourne, Florida and will require travel to project sites across the United States. Anticipate approximately 10–12 days of travel per month based on the installation schedule.
