The Mission Operations Analyst, Business Operations plays a critical supporting role on the business operations side of Mission Ops. This position enhances operational visibility, improves process efficiency, strengthens planning, and enables leadership to make data-driven decisions during fast-paced operational cycles.
Job Summary
The Business Analyst will work closely with the Mission Operations Manager, Business Operations to build, maintain, and optimize the systems, tools, and data that keep Saronic’s mission execution running smoothly. You will analyze operational activities, support logistical planning, track deliverables and financials, and help formalize internal business processes that guide field teams. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, proactive, and excited about enabling high-stakes operations through clarity, structure, and analytical rigor.
Responsibilities:
Operational Data & Analytics
Build and maintain dashboards that support visibility into mission operations performance, including readiness metrics, resource usage, deployment timelines, and cost trends.
Develop repeatable reporting frameworks to summarize weekly and monthly operational outcomes for senior leadership.
Track KPIs across training, testing, and deployment events to identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Mission Planning & Workflow Support
Support the development and refinement of planning tools for deployments, customer engagements, demonstrations, and training cycles.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of SOPs, deployment checklists, AAR workflows, and internal documentation to standardize Mission Ops processes.
Coordinate across Mission Ops, Programs, and Logistics to ensure alignment on deliverables, timelines, and resourcing needs.
Financial & Contractual Coordination
Partner with Mission Ops Manager and Finance to track operational expenditures, burn rate, T&E usage, and expected deployment costs.
Analyze historical cost data to support budgeting, forecasting, and gate-review planning.
Assist in tracking contract milestones, CLIN deliverables, and invoicing alignment with Programs.
Salesforce & CRM Support
Ensure mission-related activities, contacts, and deliverables are properly logged and maintained in Salesforce to support forecasting and reporting.
Help refine Salesforce workflows and support automation between CRM and internal planning tools.
Build reports and dashboards to enhance the visibility of customer engagements, opportunity progression, and task order execution.
Documentation, Communication & Coordination
Maintain centralized repositories for mission plans, schedules, checklists, and coordination documents.
Prepare clear, concise briefings for leadership related to operational readiness, deployment risks, and customer outcomes.
Support cross-functional meeting preparation, notes, and action-item tracking.
Qualifications:
3–5 years of experience in business analysis, operations support, project coordination, or similar analytical roles.
Strong analytical and data-visualization skills (Excel/Sheets; experience with BI tools a plus).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Comfortable collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in defense, aerospace, maritime technology, or DoD-adjacent environments.
Familiarity with operational readiness cycles, logistics planning, or field operations support.
Experience building SOPs, process maps, or structured documentation.
Practical experience with Salesforce (reports, dashboards, workflows).
Ability to interpret financial data and support budgeting or cost-tracking projects.
Exposure to contracting environments (SOWs, deliverables, program tracking).
Physical Demands:
Ability to certify as “fit for work” by demonstrating ability to swim and tread water
Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 50 lbs.
Will be exposed to marine environments, including sun, wind, rain, cold, and saltwater spray, often for extended periods
Ability to perform physically demanding work i.e. stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time including up to 12 hours/day
Climb and maintain balance on ladders, platforms, or other high structures
Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
Ability to work in a hot and humid environment and follow safe practices to stay hydrated
Hearing ability sufficient to detect alarms, verbal instructions, and workplace hazards in a high-noise environment.
Must be able to work in a shipyard environment, including indoor fabrication shops, onboard vessels under construction, and outdoor areas exposed to changing weather conditions.
Wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, hard hat and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
