Role: Senior Data Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer who is comfortable working across data systems, APIs, backend processes, and enterprise data flows. This role is ideal for someone with strong SQL, data modeling fundamentals, and the ability to translate complex technical insights into clear, actionable direction.
Unlike BI or reporting-heavy roles, this position focuses on technical data engineer, backend data flows, and supporting engineering teams with clarity, accuracy, and hands-on exploration.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and map complex data flows across multiple systems
Write advanced SQL queries to validate data, investigate issues, and support development/QA
Document business rules, data lineage, and system behaviors at a granular technical level
Work closely with engineers, DBAs, and architects to identify gaps and define solutions
Use tools like Postman to inspect, test, and troubleshoot APIs
Assist QA teams by verifying payloads, analyzing differences, and ensuring test coverage aligns with requirements
Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and avoid ambiguity
Support Agile teams with technical clarity and hands-on data investigation
Contribute to modernization efforts, process improvements, and best practices
Experience & Skills Required
7+ years of experience in data analysis, backend data pipelines, or technical data roles
Strong SQL and data modeling experience
Familiarity with APIs and tools like Postman
Experience working with structured and semi-structured data
Understanding of data warehousing concepts (CDC, DW/ETL logic)
Experience collaborating with developers, QA, and operations teams
Excellent documentation skills and communication abilities
Comfortable challenging assumptions and driving clarity
Agile/Scrum delivery experience preferred
Preferred Background
Experience in financial services, regulated industries, or large enterprise environments
Exposure to cloud data ecosystems or distributed systems
Ability to work across on-prem and cloud data landscapes
