Emerging Tech is seeking qualified Health Aides to provide full-time, on-site mental health support services to Veterans at the Sam Rayburn Memorial VA Medical Center in Bonham, Texas. The Health Aides will deliver essential day-to-day care, supervision, and therapeutic support to residents in the domiciliary inpatient areas, ensuring a safe and structured environment while supporting the VA’s mission to provide exceptional care to our nation’s Veterans. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide continuous supervision and observation of residents within the domiciliary inpatient areas, ensuring patient safety and adherence to treatment protocols. 

  • Deliver day-to-day care, including assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring behavior, and reporting changes in health or behavior promptly to medical and clinical staff. 

  • Lead and facilitate therapeutic and recreational activities to support patients’ recovery and engagement. 

  • Assist with patient intake and discharge processes, maintaining accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions. 

  • Escort residents throughout the facility, ensuring structure, supervision, and engagement at all times. 

  • Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment to support recovery and rehabilitation goals. 

  • Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to provide comprehensive care and support. 

  • Participate in 24/7 coverage, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required to ensure continuous supervision and care. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare-related training preferred. 

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in direct patient care in a residential rehabilitation or mental health setting. 

  • Experience assisting healthcare providers with therapeutic and supportive tasks in a rehabilitation treatment program. 

  • Current BLS and/or ACLS certification. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical teams. 

  • Verification that staff is not on the HHS OIG Exclusion List. 

  • Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 structured environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays. 

Compensation and Benefits: 

  • Competitive salary range: $45,000 – $55,000 annually, based on experience.
