POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marine Performance Tech tests and evaluates the performance of all boat models and prepares rigging specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Tests performance or drives all types of boats.
Tests new motors that are released yearly.
Tests prototype boats.
Makes modifications to prototype boats.
Evaluates each boat and motor combo sold for set up.
Tests new boat performance related products, such as propellers, trolling motors, etc.
Assists with rigging boats.
Assists with promotional events and activities; travel may be required.
Assists with performance questions from customers.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
Ability to make boat and performance measurements, keep records and make reports
Ability to run high performance boats
Knowledge of boats, motors and propellers
Knowledge of rigging boats
Able to meet dealers and customers and answer questions
Neat & clean – good presentation
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Approximately 20% for promotional events and activities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regular walking, standing, and lifting up to 50lbs, etc.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
