ROLE OVERVIEW
We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer to serve as a hands-on technical leader driving design, architecture, and cross-team alignment across TIFIN’s generative AI products. You’ll remain an active contributor—designing, coding, and reviewing daily—while providing technical direction and thought leadership on complex system design and AI integrations.
This role is ideal for a senior engineer who combines deep hands-on skill with the ability to guide architectural decisions, influence product strategy, and ensure technical coherence across teams.
PROJECTS
- AI Platform Evolution: Define architecture and direction for multi-agent AI systems and orchestration layers.
Data Infrastructure Modernization: Shape data flow strategies, guiding teams on scaling real-time pipelines. - Cross-Product Alignment: Partner with engineering and ML leads to ensure unified architectural patterns and reusability across TIFIN product lines.
- Developer Platform & Tooling: Drive improvements to the shared development and deployment platform, accelerating product delivery across teams.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead the design and implementation of large-scale backend and data systems supporting generative AI products.
- Provide cross-team architectural guidance, ensuring scalability, consistency, and technical quality.
- Stay hands-on—code, review, and debug complex systems in Python, TypeScript, and related stacks.
- Collaborate with product and AI leadership on roadmap and technical strategy.
- Influence build-vs-buy and system investment decisions in partnership with the CTO.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews and technical direction.
- Continuously raise the bar for system performance, reliability, and developer experience.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 7–10+ years of software development experience, with proven expertise leading complex, data-heavy products.
- Deep background in backend architecture, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience integrating AI/ML systems into scalable products.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and data teams.
- Strategic mindset—able to balance near-term execution with long-term architectural vision.
- Experience in fast-paced startup environments with high product velocity.
