The Role: 

The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Finance Department with daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data and reports. The Accounting Coordinator assists with month-end close, audit preparation, and compliance activities, and other team projects as assigned, contributing to efficient and transparent financial processes.


What You’ll Do:

  • Process daily accounting transactions, maintaining complete and accurate records in accordance with company policy.
  • Review and maintain data for accounting software and automation processes.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment tracking, collections and vendor payments.
  • Maintain Customer and Vendor records in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Review employee expense reports ensuring accurate coding, policy compliance and proper approvals.
  • Identify and assist with resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensure accounting practices comply with internal controls, policies, and relevant government regulations.
  • Communicate with internal departments and external vendors and clients to resolve billing, payment, and documentation issues.
  • Support process improvements and contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and automations.
  • Other relevant duties and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications


What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (years of relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of degree).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have a strong understanding of Excel to include pivot table analysis.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with sound judgment.
  • Clear and professional communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
