Job Summary
The Referral Specialist plays a key role in coordinating patient access to external healthcare providers, services, and community resources. This position ensures a seamless referral process by verifying insurance, obtaining necessary pre-authorizations, scheduling appointments, and serving as a liaison between patients, providers, and insurance companies.

Key Responsibilities
- Insurance Verification & Authorization: Confirm patient eligibility and benefits; obtain pre-authorizations for specialist visits and procedures.
- Patient Liaison: Educate patients on their referral process, confirm appointments, and address insurance-related or procedural questions.
- Coordination & Communication: Facilitate communication between patients, providers, and insurers to ensure timely and efficient care.
- Record Keeping: Accurately maintain patient and referral information in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Referral Tracking: Monitor referral status and follow up to ensure patients attend scheduled appointments and receive timely care.
- Reporting: Generate data-driven reports on referral volume, outcomes, and trends to support departmental improvements.

Education & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
