Position Details
Title: Payroll Specialist
Location: Talent and Development Office
Hours: Full -time, 40 per week
Schedule: May vary but will include a combination of day, evening, and/or weekend hours (including occasional Sundays)
Starting Hourly Rate Equivalent: $18.90
FLSA Status: Non-exempt

A successful candidate will…
- Associates degree in related field
- Once- three years of experience in related field
- Be proficient using Microsoft Office applications.
- Have ability to work and excel in individual and collaborative environments.
- Have experience working in HR systems, preferably ADP Workforce Now.
What does the job look like?
- Responsible for accurate processing of Library’s bi-weekly payroll and statements of earnings and deductions.
- Processes and accurately records, updates, communicates and maintains all employee payroll related information such as transfers, resignations, exemption changes and new hires, including e-verify, issues and records pay-related adjustments, and prepares bi-weekly and monthly payroll reports.
- Provides information to employees and managers on payroll-related matters, investigates, identifies and resolves payroll-related issues.
- Processes billing for Library’s 457 retirement plans.
- Communicates new hire and termination information to appropriate departments, and manages active and term employee files.
- Leads payroll training section of new hire orientation.
- Able to work the normally scheduled work time for this position.
- Able to cope with daily job-related stress
