Director of Liquidity Forecasting and Cash Management

Department: Finance Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Position Summary:

Responsible for Middle and Back Office Treasury functions, including but not limited to capital planning, cash/liquidity planning and forecasting, establishing an ALM framework, financial modeling, overseeing commercial paper operations, and supporting various funding related activities including intercompany funding and revolving lines of credit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead liquidity forecasting efforts to ensure accurate and timely visibility into short- and long-term cash needs.

  • Oversee daily cash management and short-term investment activities, optimizing liquidity usage across the organization.

  • Manage the company�s cash and liquidity positioning, ensuring sufficient funding and optimal utilization of internal and external liquidity sources.

  • Administer draws and paydowns across various liquidity facilities, including intercompany revolvers, revolving credit facilities (RCF), and commercial paper (CP) programs.

  • Maintain oversight of bank account management, including account openings, closures, and authorized signatories.

  • Monitor and forecast bank fees, and develop a �share of wallet� framework to optimize banking spend relative to services and strategic importance.

  • Manage commercial banking relationships, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and service-level expectations.

  • Monitor and manage counterparty exposure, ensuring compliance with internal risk guidelines and limits.

  • Process ad hoc payments not managed by the Accounts Payable department, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Drive and support key strategic initiatives and special projects, including:

    • Implementation of a Treasury Management System (TMS)

    • Development of Share of Wallet / RAROC / Bank Scorecards

    • Implementation of cash pooling capabilities

    • Transition of bank account management responsibilities from Accounting to Treasury

    • Creation of formal Cash Investment Policies

Qualifications and Competencies Required To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Required Experience:

  • 12+ years of recent Treasury experience, minimum of 4 years of experience managing teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Automotive and/or Financial Services industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Asset Liability Management (ALM) is strongly preferred.
  • Commercial Paper program management strongly preferred.
  • Treasury Management System implementation strongly preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor�s degree in in business, finance, accounting, or other highly analytical field or equivalent related professional experience. Master�s degree and/or CFA is preferred.

Overtime required � required on an as needed basis.

Travel 0-10% - as required on an as needed basis.

Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance of Auburn Hills, MI.

Work Schedule: This position is a hybrid role, requiring occasional in-office presence. The role also requires flexibility to work various shifts to meet business needs, typically between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend availability as needed. Travel requirements are estimated at 0�10%.
